All-on-4 implants are a way of replacing your missing teeth with just four implants supporting a full upper or lower arch of teeth. With All-on-4 implants, you can have stability, comfort, and confidence. AZ Implant & Denture Center is committed to making this process as simple, effective, and comfortable as possible so you can resume your normal life without having to wait or make extra trips.

What Are All-on-4 Dental Implants?

All-on-4 dental implants near you is a way of replacing all of your upper or lower teeth supported solely by four implants, which are titanium posts. Implants are surgical posts that can be placed in your jawbone and serve as roots for teeth. After the implants heal and biologically bond to your bone, the prosthetic teeth are attached.

All-on-4 simply means that all of your teeth are attached to four implants. With traditional implants, you might need eight or more implants to have a full mouth of teeth. These four implants are placed in the ideal positions where the bone is strongest in your jaw.

The first two implants are placed straight down in the front of your jaw. These are the two strongest areas. The other two implants are placed at an angle in the back of your mouth, which allows us to utilize more of what bone you have left if there has been bone loss with your missing teeth.

The All-on-4 Treatment Process

Your First Visit

At your first appointment, we will take X-rays and do an evaluation of your mouth. We check your bone level for implants and your overall oral health. We will also discuss what you are looking for in your new smile.

If you have some teeth that need to come out, in many cases we are able to remove them on the same day as your implant surgery. That means fewer appointments for you.

Surgery Day

On surgery day, our dentist in Sun City West, AZ, will numb your mouth so you feel no pain. For patients who are nervous, we provide sedation to help relax them during treatment.

We place 4 implants into your jaw. The front two go straight down, and the back two are placed in at a 45-degree angle. The angle allows us to avoid important nerves and use the strongest part of your jawbone.

Temporary Teeth

In many cases, we are able to provide temporary teeth the same day as surgery. The temporary teeth let you eat soft foods and smile immediately, while implants are healing.

Your temporary teeth will be attached to your implants so they won’t slip like regular dentures. While your bone bonds to the implants, you will need to eat softer foods for a period of time.

Permanent Teeth

About 3-6 months later, your implants will be bonded and healed. We will also craft your permanent teeth in our lab on-site or at our partner lab. Your permanent teeth will be made from extremely strong materials that will look exactly like real teeth, and we will customize your tooth shade to match your skin tone and face shape perfectly.

FAQ

Yes, but it takes time! At first, right after surgery, you will be eating soft foods while the implants heal, and after a few months into the healing process, you will be eating almost anything you want, including on the tougher side, like steak, and crunchy foods like apples!
The implant surgery usually takes 2-3 hours per arch. If you are getting both upper and lower All-on-4, we may schedule both on the same day, or we may do it separately based on what is comfortable for you and what fits your needs.
Age alone does not prevent you from getting All-on-4 dental implants near you. As long as you are healthy enough for oral surgery and have adequate jawbone, you may be a good candidate. We have successfully treated patients in their 80s and 90s.
Patients who are missing most or all of their teeth, or who have failing teeth, could be good candidates for All-on-4. Bone levels and health conditions will also be taken into consideration.
